About Judy

Wife– to Dan, my husband and life partner. We’ve been together since we were 20; met in college. We are so different in so many ways. And yet, we are so much alike. It definitely makes life interesting. We both work full time and we don’t do a good job of scheduling date nights. We catch time when we can and know that in a few short years we will be empty nesters! I look forward to being able to spend more time together doing the things we love.

Mom – to Oldest Son, Middle Son and Youngest Son; three teenage boys. They are awesome kids! I write a lot about life as their mom while trying not to tell their story. My writing is usually from my perspective as a parent and I try to protect them a bit. That’s why they are named Oldest, Middle and Youngest. Those who know us, know who I’m talking about and those who don’t can understand. Being a Mom is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. There have been plenty of days when I’ve realized I have no clue what I’m doing. But with God’s help I’m getting it done. And I’m having so much fun! Crazy stupid fun!

Program Manager – at a non-profit organization. I love my work! I love making a difference. I appreciate the flexibility working in a non-profit provides and I love having work that really matters. I am also challenged to balance home and work. There is always more to do than can really be done in a day – both at work and at home. It challenges me. But I also cannot imagine who I would be if I didn’t work. I stayed home for 10 years after Youngest Son was born {just couldn’t afford it before then} and I wouldn’t trade those years for anything! Personally, I believe that is why I am blessed with great teenagers. I don’t judge or fault Moms who have made a different choice, that’s just my personal belief. I did the right thing for us by staying home all those years. And now, I’m doing the right thing by working. Right for us.

Crafter– I love to take something old and repurpose it into something new and beautiful. Whether its scrapbooking, beading, rubber stamping, glass fusing, painting pottery or  sewing there’s a satisfaction in repurposing. There are  so many awesome ideas in blog land. I could spend hundreds of hours looking at the cute things people create. And hundreds more working on them!  I sneak in time for this when I can. The inspiration has to come; it can’t be forced so sometimes these projects take a while.

Photographer – I love taking pictures! I have always loved capturing the meaningful moments in life. From shooting for the high school yearbook and newspaper {a hundred years ago} to capturing my kids’ lives. There’s just something about capturing the feeling to go back to again and again. Today, I’m playing a little more with my camera and enjoying the results. I have taken a leap and started my own photography business – Perspectives – photos by Judy. I can’t wait to see where this takes me! I post my photos on my other blog so check it out – From My Perspective!

Thanks for stopping by! I try to post a couple times a week. Sometimes I get on a roll and post daily, but sometimes life gets a little crazy and I’m out for a week. I love comments and it’s always nice to know someone is reading what I write so go ahead and subscribe at the top of the page {Stay in the Loop}. I’ll let you know when the inspiration has hit and I’ve posted:)! Enjoy!
